The German-Polish Edition Project is dedicated to the conserved fragment of Yehuda Leib Lubinski’s diary (born in 1924, he assumedly died 1944 in Auschwitz), which was written in the Lodz/Litzmannstadt Ghetto. The original manuscript is currently preserved at the Museum of the City of Łódź (Signatur H-O/1069). It consists of a notebook of nearly 100 handwritten pages dating from January 1st 1941 and October 27th 1941. It is assumed that more records exist, which have not been located yet.
Joanna Podolska-Płocka and Dr. Grzegorz Gazda (both University of Łódź) are working on the Polish edition. The German version is pursued at the Arbeitsstelle Holocaustliteratur (Project Coordinator: Anna Kiniorska-Michel). The Museum of the City of Łódź is supportively involved in both versions (Director: Ryszard Czubaczyńsk).
